About us
I am Sachin Ramesh, the person behind Marathi-Ukhanes.com. I was born and raised in Maharashtra, and like most Marathi families, weddings and cultural ceremonies have always been a central part of my life. Growing up, I watched my mother and aunts carefully prepare ukhane before every lagna, haldi-kunku, and Makar Sankranti gathering — memorizing lines, practicing rhythm, making everyone laugh or smile with just two lines of poetry.
“I still remember my cousin’s wedding where the bride forgot her ukhane halfway through and everyone in the mandap burst out laughing. That moment stayed with me — ukhane are not just words, they are living memories.”
What frustrated me was that whenever I searched for ukhane online, I found scattered results — outdated lists, broken formatting, no mobile-friendly copy option, and nothing that felt like it was made with real love for Marathi culture. So in early 2026, I decided to build Marathi-Ukhanes.com — a clean, easy-to-use, and regularly updated home for every type of Marathi ukhane.
